Financial controller *(Romania Market, SaaS)

For my client, an IT company, i am recruiting a Financial Controller

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller who will take ownership of financial oversight for our Romanian entities and customers, ensuring top‑quality reporting for the Management Board and shareholders.

The person will work closely with the Country CFO in Romania, the Group Head of Controlling, and the Group CFO. The role reports on a matrix basis to the Country CFO (Romania) and the Head of Group Controlling (Warsaw, Poland).

Key Responsibilities

Operational Controlling (Romania)

  • Full ownership of the P&L for the Romanian market, including subscription revenues, margins, and cost structure.
  • Performance analysis of products and business units, including recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaboration with Romanian operational teams, the Country CFO, and the Group Controlling team in Warsaw.

Management Reporting & SaaS Metrics

  • Preparation of recurring financial reports (P&L/BS/CF), variance analyses, KPI reviews, and presentations.
  • Accountability for key SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, LTV, CAC).

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Modelling

  • Coordination of budgets and rolling forecasts, in terms of collaboration with the BU heads and CRO for collecting the data and consolidating in one budget /forecast
  • Development of financial models supporting business expansion.

Group Consolidation

  • Consolidation of Group results and intercompany eliminations.
  • Ensuring compliance with IFRS/MSSF and collaboration with auditors.

Accounting Oversight & Compliance

  • Intercompany reconciliations and cooperation with external advisors.

Treasury & Cash Flow

  • Cash flow forecasting, reporting, and liquidity management.

Project Controlling & CAPEX/OPEX

  • Budgeting and financial oversight of key projects.
  • CAPEX/OPEX classification

Audit / Due Diligence / M&A Support

  • Cooperation with Finance team and Chief Accountant in -preparation of financial data for audits, DD, and M&A processes.

Process Optimization & Tools

  • Improvement of controlling and sales processes.
  • Implementation of analytics tools (Power BI, Power Query, dashboards).

Requirements

  • [5+] years of experience in financial controlling.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to gaining an in‑depth understanding of business operations and end‑to‑end processes, enabling effective partnership with management.
  • Proficiency with Excel & Power BI and dashboarding tools.
  • Advanced financial modelling skills.
  • Strong understanding of M&A accounting and consolidation.
  • Strong understanding of Romanian GAAP & IFRS
  • Fluency in Romanian (strict requirement).
  • Fluent English.
